NEW Mintel is the world’s leading Market Research resource. It offers analysis of consumers, markets, new products and competitive landscapes. Available in the Mitchell Library


NEW Local Data Online provides localised information on high streets, cities and towns. It also has market insights (including property information and vacancy rates) and historical trends for the UK as well as in detailed local areas. BSOL logo

BSOL (British Standards Onine) provides full access to British and adopted European and International standards. Standards determine the goods we consume and the services we are provided with, from the safety of products to quality management procedures.

Available from work or home with your Glasgow Library card. When accessing from home, log into the online catalogue in the first instance before clicking on the BSOL link.


The ABI/Inform Collection, included in Proquest Central, comprises research databases covering Business, Management, Trade & Industry reports and journal articles. Features periodicals such as the Economist and Financial Times, as well as newspapers, plus country and industry focused reports. Available from work or home with your Glasgow Library card.

Funds Online Search for grant givers who provide funding for individuals or groups and increase your fundraising success. Available in the Mitchell Library (General Services Department)

Access to Research provides access to many of the world’s best academic papers from leading publishers including those covering enterprise research, social media in business analytics and intellectual property rights. Abstracts and open source material can be accessed remotely and full text versions are available in all Glasgow Libraries.

Overdrive offers full-colour digital magazines with dozens of business related titles to choose from such as The Economist, MoneyWeek and Entrepreneur magazine. Free to access once you sign up with your library card.
