These books have been selected by Child and Adolescent Mental Health Professionals (CAMHS).This collection for children and young people is a joint collaboration between Glasgow City Libraries and the NHS GG&C Early Intervention TIPS Project.

Shelf Help

These are books based on therapies which have been found to be helpful for children and young people with emotional and mental health difficulties.

These books can offer some understanding of emotional and mental health difficulties as well as strategies and ideas that might help to improve difficulties. The books may also help children and young people to feel that they are not the only ones who experience the difficulties that they are at the moment. The books may also help to open up positive conversations about their difficulties with those around them. 

There is some research to suggest that books can help to improve some common emotional and mental health difficulties for children and adolescents.
