The girl in the photograph

An atmospheric and moody book but an easy read. We felt it was a trifle contrived and superficial. It tried to check the boxes for a psychological thriller or ghost story; but did not quite achieve this. The book deals with the issues of pregnancy, postpartum depression and puerperal psychosis and these were well handled. We felt the feminine issues raised and woman's mental issues were the focus of the book. The group gave the book a score of 6
