The girl who stole an elephant

When I was reading this book one thing that puzzled me was how Chaya ( the main character ) was always brave enough to do things considering how much of a risk she was taking. Now I think that it was because she didn't think she just did it and when she had time to think she thought about it and did it anyway. I liked what the author did with Chaya's personality making her more daring than she was supposed to be and the whole adventure.
