Note: Title from spine Latin text Medieval manuscript. Written in Scotland at some time after 1491, and gifted to the Cistercian abbey of Newbattle, Midlothian. An abridgement of the original work in sixteen books. Scotichronicon is the joint work of John of Fordun and his continuator Walter Bower. The first five books and some part of the sixth were completed by John of Fordun, between 1384 and 1387. Walter Bower begun work on the remainder in 1441, and finished in 1447.
